Registration now open for 2023 Praga Cup UK

As of 10:00am GMT on Thursday 8th December, registration for the 2023 Praga Cup UK is open.

In an exciting change for the 2023 season, Praga drivers and teams can expect more races and more cars on the grid, as the Praga Cup will run as a standalone class in the all-new Britcar Prototype Cup, where Praga R1s will compete alongside a variety of manufacturers invited by Britcar.

Britcar has provisionally confirmed a new weekend program of two 25-minute sprint races and one 50-minute endurance race that will offer a mix of fast, furious and exciting races retaining the Pro-Am structure of 2022.

The Praga Cup package includes race day livestream, full dedicated PR by Praga, Data Engineer Team analysing the loggers and full hospitality for three guests per race day (breakfast and two course lunch).

The PRAGA R1 Presentation

The Praga R1 takes the established conventions of racing car design and amplifies them. When we talk about light weighting, we do so with the authority of a brand that has designed and built a proven bespoke carbon fibre chassis.

When we talk about aerodynamics, we do so as a company that understands that a racing driver requires grip not only for outright speed, but for confidence, driver feel and overtaking performance.

And when we talk about strength, integrity and reliability, we do so as a company that has established these as guiding principles.

We don’t do things differently just for the sake of it. We analyse, improve, test and evolution.

LIGHTWEIGHT PHILOSOPHY
Brake later, take corners faster, steer with more confidence and accelerate more freely. Enjoy the competitive advantage of a truly lightweight racing car with the Praga R1. Being lighter also means less tyre wear, reduced mechanical stresses, and therefore lower maintenance bills. We call that a win win.

AERODYNAMICS
You can tell by just looking at the R1’s bodywork that it has been shaped to manipulate the air itself. The result is an advanced aerodynamic package; evolved and improved to create grip, stability and agility. Recent developments to the R1’s aero package have delivered an improvement in the R1’s sensitivity to ride height adjustments, and underfloor modifications have optimized overall aerodynamic balance.

3G LATERAL FORCE
Continuous improvement using advanced CFD tools has increased downforce and reduced drag. Yes, the R1 can generate close to 3G of lateral force in corners – but we prefer to talk about how we’ve engineered the aerodynamics to give you the confidence to approach your limits lap after lap.

EASY TO MAINTAIN
Want to run the car with a single mechanic? No problem. For track days and testing, the Praga R1 has been designed to be operated by one person. For a race weekend, you may choose more support – but the essential fact is that the R1 is engineered from the outset for easy set-up and on-track maintenance.

ELIGIBLE RACE SERIES
Praga works closely with governing bodies and race organisers all over the world. The R1 is eligible for a number of highly competitive and popular championships – with more to be revealed. If your chosen championship is not listed, please get in touch.

Praga plan to expand our race programme significantly across Europe, USA, Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Australia as well as launching a unique, one-make race Praga R1 race series in UK/Eu.
